Should students take part in Politics?

Should students be allowed to take part in politics? According to my point of view politics should not be a forbidden fruit for students and to a certain limits, they should have liberty to take part in politics.
Politics concerned with affairs of the country, its constitution, its policies, foreign relations and so on. As a citizen every young man is interested in these affairs.
With the development of literacy, people read newspapers even students and common men also read newspapers and give their comments on the current situation.
Their views regarding politics may be very superficial, lacking depth study etc, but due to their interest in politics these are valuable. School boys and girls are also very much interested in thrilling news and as their politics sense develops they are keen to take part in politics.
This also happen in the colleges and universities, where students stand for union elections representing their political parties and they get more and more interest in the political affairs of the country.
Some people believe that as politics is a controversial game and spoil the career of young generation; hence students should keep themselves aloof from politics.
They believe that our colleges and universities should stop political activities. They should take part in academic activities.
If they involve in politics or allow their students to take part in it, it means that they are doing disservice to the nation. By opting for politics students waste their precious time which they should utilize in getting education.
But the question arises that how we can isolate politics from life? Today life is very complicated and it is absurd to think that any citizen may remain disinterested in the political life of the country. If so, how is it possible to keep our students, cream of the society, away from politics?
No doubt there are chances that students may be misguided and consequently, they may become tools in the hands of one political party or the other. But we should guard them against these dangers. Let them face the issues boldly.
We must develop in our students the minds having the right political consciousness. They should get practical training in educational institutions and thus be allowed to take part in politics in restricted way.
Instead of keeping students away from politics it is better to allow them in this field under proper guidance.
